Eurobike and AMB Exhibition
For my new sponsor Carl Stahl, I went to the AMB exhibition and to the Eurobike. I presented my bike from the Olympic Games with the Nokon Bowdenzügen, which worked very well in Beijing.
Olympic Games in Beijing
After the Olympic Triathlon Race I had another five days until the Closing Ceremony. I enjoyed this time watching as much sport events as possible and visiting the whole Olympic Village.
Due to the Olympic Race in two weeks, the distances of the German Championships were reduced to the sprint distance of 750 m swim, 25 km bike and 5 km run. Ricarda was 3rd in this race and is now heading to South Korea, to prepare for the Olympics.
Hamburg is one of my favourite races and this year I could celebrate my first career world cup title there. As always, the chearing of the crowd in Hamburg is overwhelming and they supported my until the finish line, even during some heavy rains on the running course.
At the City Run in my hometown Waiblingen I had lots of support from the crowd and they wished me all good luck for the olympic race in Beijing.
In Madrid I had bad luck with the weather. It was very cold. Normally that does not affect me, but this time I felt really bad.
The trip to Richards Bay via Johannesburg and Durban was quite long. But I didn't know this place yet, and it was a great experience.
For two weeks I was with the Junior- and U23 Team from Baden-Württemberg in Mallorca. I had a lot of fun training with the young athletes.
